
Criminal networks generating millions in revenue from illegal access to paid sports, film and television channels were struck in a major international operation coordinated by Bulgaria with the support of Europol.
The seven-month Operation KRATOS 2 was led by the GDCOC Cybercrime Directorate between September 2025 and April 2026. It resulted in 29 arrests, the dismantling of 9 organised crime groups and the removal of over 27,000 illegal streaming URLs.
Law enforcement from 13 countries took part, including Belgium, Bulgaria, the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, the USA and France, together with strategic partners from the audiovisual sector such as LALIGA, UEFA and beIN Media Group.
As a result of sustained action to protect intellectual property, Bulgaria was removed from the US “List 310” watch list.
