GDCOC detained a man for distributing material depicting the sexual abuse of minors — a crime under Article 159(4) of the Criminal Code. The special operation was carried out in the Gabrovo region on 11 June 2026.
The action was taken as part of the international Mariposa operation of the Child Rescue Coalition foundation, under the supervision of the Tryavna Territorial Division of the Gabrovo Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
During a search of the detainee’s home, a computer system containing 77 GB of material was found and seized. Efforts to establish the full extent of the criminal activity continue.
