Three people were arrested by the GDBOP in Varna during a special police operation against drug distribution in the region, carried out urgently on July 8, 2026. Two of the men were caught in the act of a cocaine deal, and later their accomplice was also detained, for whom evidence was gathered that he was storing the dealer’s drugs in his home. During personal searches and inspections of premises and vehicles, quantities of cocaine, money, and items related to the investigation were seized. Approximately 223 grams of cocaine in various pressed forms and plastic bags were found at the depot, while the distributor had 9.32 grams and 1.85 grams ready for sale. A sum of 900 euros, an electronic scale with traces of cocaine, and mobile phones were also seized. A pre-trial proceeding was initiated for a crime under Art. 354a, para. 1 of the Penal Code, under the supervision of the Varna District Prosecutor’s Office.
Two people have been charged as suspects for possession and distribution of narcotic substances, and their detention has been extended to 72 hours by an order from the supervising prosecutor. Another criminal group was neutralized by anti-mafia officers in the city a few days earlier. During a police operation on June 29, four men were detained – two in the midst of a cocaine deal (a dealer and a client) and two involved in the investigated activity (the group's organizer and his associate). During searches of their homes and vehicles, more than 227 grams of cocaine, 46 rounds of ammunition of various models and calibers, approximately 95,000 euros, three scales with traces of cocaine, and mobile phones were found.
Three of the people have been given a permanent preventive measure of 'detention in custody' by the Administrative Court in Varna. Two have been charged with a crime under Art. 321, para. 6, 354a para. 2, and one under Art. 339, para. 1 of the Penal Code – for possession and distribution of narcotic substances and ammunition without proper authorization.
